Andre's first ski boat was a 16ft. bare bones Cherokee hull he found laying around in the yard of his local marina back in 1983.
For roughly $50.00 he learned the true meaning of manual labor and found a new kind of love for being out on the water.
Within a few months he was hooked - his hull and deck were re-painted, new stringers were added, floors, carpet, and seats were all replaced followed by new deck hardware. He replaced the wiring and installed an electric horn loud enough to wake the entire neighborhood. The once immobile boat was now ready for some fun at sea.
This was the first time he brought a boat back to life, and that feeling felt so good he knew he had to share it with others -which led to the birth of Island Yacht Repair.
